The 17 year long wait for Todd Bodine is over and he tasted victory at last in the truck race in Daytona. Bodine has made almost 34 tries at the famous Daytona international speedway to reach the victory lane. He won the Chevy Silverado 250 craftsman truck series by holding of Johnny Benson and Kyle Busch. Todd Bodine used a Toyota and his average speed was 127.551 mph. The race lasted for 1 hour, 57 minutes and 36 seconds and Todd’s victory margin is .077 seconds. For the first time in the history of Daytona Craftsman Series the trucks were using 17.75 gallon fuel cells instead of the usual 22 gallon cells.

The race was stopped for 17 minutes, 23 seconds due to an accident that caused the elimination of Skinner from the race and damage to many vehicles. Ron Hornaday, The defending truck series champion had to take his No. 33 Chevrolet for repair because of mechanical problems. Busch bagged the second position followed by Benson and David Starr. It was a moment of great pride for Toyota as their drivers reached the top four positions in the Chevy Silverado 250.

  Count down has officially started for the 50th running of the Daytona 500 and DC Brands International’s Corvette Giveaway. There are 100 contest winners and VIPs of region’s top retailers for the land marking of the race which will hold on 17th February 2008 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Daytona International Speedway is a super speed way which is 2.5 mile long and is in tri-oval race track. It has seating capacity for almost 169,000 spectators. This year Daytona 500 race will be held among 43 drivers, who will be racing for more than 18 million dollars while more than 1.5 million dollars for themselves. This is term as the “Great American Race” and drivers give this race a top priority. This race track is the platform for the newcomers as well and experts are also promoted more than any other track race. The famous winners of this race are Richard Petty (seven times winner), Fireball Roberts, Fred Lorenzen Marvin Panch, Tiny Lund and Junior Johnson winning in the early 1960s. There will be a party at the Cruisin’ Café, with fully-outfitted staff in Turn Left gear and one lucky person will win the 2007 Turn Left Corvette.

Robert Kauffman are giving Nascar a high-octane boost,moonshine runners and car dealers who gave the motor sport its start. A record $3.5 billion in sponsorships will flow into U.S. motor sports in 2008. That’s attracting Kauffman, fund owner John Henry, who owns the Boston Red Sox; and George Gillett. They see an opportunity for more profit from applying financial expertise to mom-and-pop businesses. ` Nascar is the biggest U.S. racing league by sales and claims. Kauffman purchased half of Michael Waltrip Racing.

Toyota’s progress in NASCAR Sprint Cup racing from early 2007 to January 2008 has been an eye-opener.Toyotas posted six of the fastest cumulative speeds in qualifying trim. Denny Hamlin ran second fastest at 188.818 mph.Dale Jarrett says he has a fighting chance to win the 50th running of the Great American Race. Toyota assembled a group of engineers dedicated to the development of restrictor-plate engines for the Camry version of the COT.

 Denning explaining that the moment at the Kotel was the first time he sensed a touch of the divine. Denning has toured throughout Israel. He pitched tents in the Negev Desert climbed Masada and took in views of the Mediterranean Sea. Denning said that moving to Virginia to train and race was a culture shock for him.

Morgan-McClure Motorsports is going to leave racing business.The decision to scale back operations was met with sadness by Sterling Marlin.
The team would not be able to compete in its 26th Daytona 500 next month.

Now that the New Year’s Eve celebrations are all gone, it is right the time for Testing at Daytona International Speedway to commence. It’s time for the drivers and crew members to head south for two weeks of testing around the famed Daytona track that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Daytona 500 next month.

The Orlando Sentinel has made a decision to focus more on its local news. Doing so, the Sentinel will cut its national NASCAR coverage. Ed Hinton, one of the best and most popular NASCAR writers, will also be leaving the company. This decision is connected with the fact that NASCAR 

is one of the most watched sports in the U.S. and local news is very often neglected. Therefore, someone should care for the local news coverage and this mission has been taken on by the Orlando Sentinel.

Kasey Kahne, Nascar driver, is having a trial in Miami for assaulting a track security worker at Homestead-Miami Speedway last month. Archibald Hutchison, the victim, is 62. He is suing Kahne because of injuries he said he received on Nov. 16, when the young NASCAR driver pushed him at an access gate during the Ford 400 race weekend.
Kahne was charged with battery and released.
