Joey Logano was not injured in a big crash that he was in during this weekend’s race. This was his first crash during his Nascar career, which began this year and he flipped maybe 7 times. He wont be a major player in the Sprint Cup this year. But the winner of the race, Jimmie Johnson, will most likely be a contender this season, having been sitting in second place for awhile now, and we’re going to be seeing how that’s going to work out during the next couple of weeks. Martin is still sitting pretty, but we’re also expecting that Johnson and others will be in contention too. Let’s keep watching out for them and pick one to root for. It’ll be fun, I promise!

The sponsorships seem to be dropping like flies in the Nascar sport right now. It’s a bit of a surprise because one of the few things that still seem to be getting people to watch. Racing is fun but it will be interesting to see which companies they are able to bring in to make up for the loss of the sponsors. The two most recent are two of the biggest liquor companies in the country, Jim Beam and Jack Daniels. They have both pulled out of their sponsorship. This comes on the heels of several other sponsors dropping. The sport will easily be able to bring back several more companies during the next few months. This has been a great year for competition, but the money hasn’t been flowing the way that it usually does. Once the upturn comes, the sponsor money will probably be back.

Mark Martin is having a fabulous year in the Sprint Cup. He has won 5 races this year, which is a big surprise for everyone. There was one tense moment for him with Montoya, who said that Martin held him up at the beginning of the second lap. This is to say, he got in his way and could have been wrecked for his efforts. But maybe he didn’t do anything on purpose. It’s not completely clear, but that’s ok. It was a great race up in New Hampshire and as the Sprint Cup moves forwards, this race will keep the Nascar race warm for the rest of the season. We’ll be watching close so that we can see who might actually win this. It’s not clear whether Martin has a great chance to win, but they’re already in good position!

A bunch of NASCAR people were on Regis and Kelly this morning wearing raincoats. It didn’t seem like anything real or normal. Fans probably enjoyed the quick shoutout, but it didn’t seem like a real interview of any kind. People like Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch and others were there, but you could hardly see who they were. They also didnt get to talk at all really. I mean, with 6 people there, standing outside, you can’t really tell who they are. Regis and Kelly aren’t the best interviewers anyway, but I hope you had a good time watching these folks on the show!

The Sprint Cup has been more exciting this year than usual, with a lot of close racers. It’s going to be more exciting for us to see what the result of the Sprint Cup is going to be now, with the possibility of tough competition. This may or may not be the result of the new model of car that was released a couple years ago. The car is designed to be faster and safer. But it was also supposed to level the playing field to a certain extent between the racers with a lot of resources and those without so many resources. The Sprint Cup is going to be a lot of fun this year too, because there are some teams that we haven’t seen at the top in many years. We’re coming down the stretch, so get ready for fun!

Nascar is well-known for their charity work. This has been a rough year for lots of charities, but Nascar has kept up the Prelude race tradition, where they race for charity. It’s a nice little break for the drivers, who don’t need to compete as hard as they have been for other races, like the Sprint Cup races that have been going on as of late. Tony Stewart, as you might expect, won the race this year, as he did last year. Whenever the racers are going on the attack, it’s a lot of fun. But it’s also fun to see them race when there is less concern about winning the race just right and getting points. It was a good race on Wednesday and we hope to see more sometime soon!

Danica Patrick is becoming a NASCAR driver. There have been rumors about that for a long time and there have been suggestions of it for years so far. Commentators have mixed expectations about how she is expected to do. This is a tough switch for any driver. Going from Indy to Nascar has been almost a racing death knell for many drivers over the years, because the style of driving is different and the frequency of the races is too. Danica Patrick, however, brings big star power with her to Nascar. She has been in magazines and interviewed all over the place, ever since she was one of the first women to compete in the Indy 500. She will be hoping to become a champion in Nascar, having been unable to do so in the Indy world. Keep an eye on this story.
