Kyle Busch continued to dominate NASCAR after winning the O’Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This was his third Craftsman Truck Series win of the season and his 17th overall in 2008 in NASCAR’s top three series. The race had to be extended for 3 laps after a car spun off on the last lap. Busch No.1 Toyota struggled with restarts earlier in the race but the last restart was flawless. He also spoilt the party for Johnny Benson who was looking to become the first driver to win four consecutive truck races but ended up in fourth spot. Two time Sprint Race champion Jimmie Johnson had a disastrous race and could not finish the race.

Jeff Gordon who finished at the top of the standings last year, has had a terrible season so far. 29th place finish at Watkins Glen was a shocker for Gordon who has previously won 4 times at the same track. He is sixth in the points tally and 500 points behind the leader. Gordon’s team seems to have lost its magic that had once caught the eye of the racing community. The team had good testing sessions in the beginning of the season and was expecting to do well but their cars have just not been up to the scratch. Gordon and the team are feeling the heat as anxiousness rises and rumors are beginning to surface the market.

Kyle Busch is the proudest man in the NASCAR circuit at the moment as he became the first man in the history of NASCAR to claim three road course victories in a single season. This rare feat was achieved by Kyle Busch when he won the Centurion Boats 52 lap race at the Watkins Glen International last Sunday after starting the race from the pole position. This is the eighth win for Busch and he is sure to win many more races in the following years to come. The Busch fans are expecting many more records to be broken by their idol and are booking their tickets well in advance for the races that Busch is taking part.

The No.96 Hall of Fame Racing Toyota team announced that J.J Yeley would be replaced by Brad Coleman as the team’s main driver from the beginning of the Sprint Cup race on Aug 17. Coleman has been related with the team as its test driver since late 2007. The sacking of Yeley came after a series of disappointing performance by the team. The team stands at 38th position in the Owners Point tally. Team co-owner, Tom Garfinkel, praised Yeley’s contribution to the team and said it was time for a change. Coleman is currently a driver for No.27 in the Nationwide Series with 42 starts and is currently placed 16th in drivers tally. The No.96 Toyota is ninety six points from 35th placed CNC Racing and is hoping for a change of fortunes with the arrival of Coleman.

A rainy Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal brought out the grooved rain tires for the first time in NASCAR Nationwide race series this season and Ron Fellows was the proud winner of this race, which is his fourth win in 13 Nationwide Series races. The rain hit the circuit so badly that the race had to be called off with about 26 laps still to race. Ron Fellows was very much excited to win the race and said that he had visibility problems throughout the race. He said that it was very difficult to handle the car on the road because of the slippery conditions. Fellows fans will be buying tickets to future NASCAR races in anticipation of a good showing by the racer.

Jimmie Johnson, the latest racer to win at Indianapolis, will be testing his skills on a truck by taking part in the Craftsman Truck Series for the Moss’ team at the Bristol event. Johnson said that he is ready to take up the new challenge and will be driving the truck no 81, Chevrolet, for the Moss’ team. Johnson will be debuting in a truck race and all his fans are excited about the prospect of seeing him drive a bigger racing vehicle, the truck, and that too for NFL receiver Randy Moss’s team. Since everyone is excited to see Johnson drive a truck, there is no doubt that there will be a huge sale of tickets for the Bristol race.
